INTA Annual Meeting San Diego 2025 - Roundup

Some of our MoranLaw team were fortunate to attend the International Trademark Association (INTA)'s 2025 annual meeting in San Diego last week. Here's what they had so say about the conference and what they are looking forward to at the 2026 meeting.

After going to INTA, I’m always reminded of how important industry relationships are, as well as how cool it is to be able to meet so many people from different parts of the world.

My key highlights from San Diego were enjoying the California sunset and eating lots of tacos!

This was my most enjoyable INTA Annual Meeting yet – despite having to skip a fair bit of the week!

I arrived late after celebrating my son’s graduation (a very proud moment), missed all the late-night events while managing new matters back home, and I didn’t make it to the annual football tournament (still gutted). But somehow, INTA San Diego 2025 was my favourite yet, because:

It was the first time I attended as part of a MoranLaw delegation of four! Jessie, Leighton and John were all on fire and the buzz around our firm’s growth and momentum opened more doors than ever before!

We had generous feedback on our marketing and newsletter which was truly appreciated and I loved answering questions about and sharing stories of our growth over the past 12 months.

I was grateful for the support of the MoranLaw team back in the office managing a surge of new work last week - thank you to our very patient clients.

It was so good catching up with friends old and new - although we did miss those friends in San Diego we did not get the opportunity to catch up with.

For me, the highlight was being re-connected with all my many overseas friends and contacts after having been away from the INTA meetings for six years. I found re-connecting easy and a lot of fun.

San Diego, as a venue, has always been a great city for a convention as it's easy to get around and generally great weather.

Next year's meeting will be in London - a great city, but we'll see how it works logistically with 10-12,000 conference attendees trying to get to places and to arrange meetings. I'm certainly looking forward to the challenge!

It was a great INTA annual meeting in San Diego. Everyone remarked on what an easy city it is to get around and we were spoilt with lovely weather for the week. It was brilliant to catch up with clients, friends, and colleagues in an amazing city.

Some highlights for me were attending the baseball at Petco Park and suppers/events in La Jolla, at the historic Hotel del Corondao and in the lively Gaslamp district. Thank you to law firms and suppliers who hosted receptions, I was grateful for the many invitations.

It was a useful catch up with my INTA committee, the parallel imports committee, and the material differences sub-committee. We have a progressed draft resolution that we are hoping will be considered by the board of INTA.

Having lived in London for 20+ years, I am looking forward to catching up with old friends, colleagues, and clients in London for the annual meeting next year.
